10th Anniversary Aussie Millions Tournament of Champions

10th Anniversary Aussie Millions Tournament of Champions was a special event added to Aussie Millions Championship 2012 to celebrate the achievements of the champions of the past. This event was set up in the format winner-takes-it-all and eight of nine former champions of the Main Event in the Aussie Millions came to the table to win the “golden ticket”.

The top prize – “The Golden Ticket” will allow the lucky winner lifetime entry to Aussie Millions Main Event. Eight former champions who took part in this event were Peter Costa (2003), Tony Bloom (2004), Jamil Dia (2005), Lee Nelson (2006), Gus Hansen (2007), Stewart Scott (2009), Tyron Krost (2010) and David Gorr (2011).

At the end of the action Krost, 25, became the man of the game. At the start of the event the play moved smoothly from player to player until Krost took his seat an hour late. He late arrival was due to the fact that he finished forth in the Event 6 final table. Krost had to put all his efforts to regain his short stack and he did not waste any time.

The heads up was between Krost and Bloom. Krost took a significant lead from Bloom in one hand where both player built a massive pot on the flop with the same pair. Krost however held a better kicker and gain the overwhelming lead. Bloom managed to double up a couple of time but at the end Krost’s A, J took over Bloom’s pocket nines when an ace on the river won him the title of the event and a lifetime entry to Aussie Millions Main Events.
