306 players registered for Day 1b of the Asia Pacific Poker Tour APPT in Macao. The game lasted eight levels and at the end of the night Sha Jun from China finished in the chip lead with 169,400 chips.

Although no event of Day 1b could beat the news of Phil Ivey returning to the poker tables on Day 1a there were plenty of well-known players at the felt including Johnny Chan, Maxim Lykov, Phil Willcocks, Bryan Huang, Victorino Torres, Nacho Barbero, Jeff Rossiter ,Vivian Im, Terrence Chan, Randy Lew and Celina Lin.

Unfortunately Lin and Lykov did not make it through into Day 2. Huang however will come back as one of the top chip leaders with 154,100 chips. During the course of the Day Huang steadily grew his chip count taking risks when needed playing many big hands. One of those remarkable hands happened with the board of 6c, 10d, 10c, 9c, 4h Huang raised to 9,075, more than half of the pot and his opponent called. Huang opened Ac, 10c sending his opponent’s cards into muck.

The combined field for the first 2 days made an impressive 575 players setting a record for APPT Macao. 304 players will come back for Day 2 to fight for their share of the HKD$15,552,600 prize pool and hope to win the top prize of HKD$3,772,000 (around USD$500,000). Day 2 will commence on Friday at 12:00 CST at Grand Lisboa Hotel and Casino.
