Aussie Millions 2012 Event 5

Aussie Millions 2012 Event 5 Day 1 $1,100 No Limit Holdem 6 Max attracted a huge field of world’s poker best players. It took long twelve hours of play to whiter the field down to the last three tables. This was a record breaking year for this event with 385 entrants, 12 more than last year, making combined prize pool of $385,000 and $84,200 top prize.

There was no shortage of stars at the tables including players like JP Kelly, Vitaly Lunkin, Van Markus, Jonathan Karamalikis, Roberto Romanello, Grant Levy, Sam Holden, Maria Ho, Dam Smith, Andrew Hinrichsen, Nacho Barbero and Randy Dorfman.

The money bubble finally was reached late in to the evening and this unlucky title came to Nick Bizimoski. In his last hand Bizimoski went all in the As, Qh and saw his opponent make a two pair with Jc, Tc.

After all players were in the money the speed of action increased and eliminations went fast.  Vesko Zmukic finished 36^th, Tyron Krost finished 34^th, Jasse McKenzie left 29^th, Jackie Glazier 28^th.

Tom Middleton eliminated Joe Hachem, 2005 WSOP Main Event champion, in the 27^th place. Two players were battling against each other all night and at last  Hachem four-bet and went all in with A, T to see Middleton’s A, Q. The board did not bring any help to Hachem and his run Aussie Millions 2012 Event 5 was over.

Middleton became the first player to get 500,000 chips but his lead did not last long as he soon lost many posts to Cockburn, the final chip leader. The biggest hand Middleton lost was on the flop of 4, 5, J. Middleton had 6,7 and Cockburn held A, J. The turn and the river did not bring any help to Middleton and Cockburn took the chip lead.

The final day of Aussie Millions 2012 Event 5 will begin at 16:00 AEST on Friday 20^th 2012.
