Aussie Millions 2012 Event 6

By Julia, 21, January, 2012 - 16:27

Aussie Millions 2012 Event 6, the $1,100 No-Limit Holdem with Rebuys kicked off with 92 players who added 331 rebuys and generated a huge AUD$324,000 prize pool. The game was finished late into the night and Marvin Rettenmaier is leading ten remaining finalists hoping for UAD$122,670 top prize.

As the day began the action was fast and players were not shy of pushing all in. Mclean Karr, Jim Collopy and Faraz Jaka were among the first few who reached for their wallets to pay a $1,0000 rebuy. Isaac Baron had enough after two rebuys when his pocket aces got beaten by pocket nines.

At the end of the rebuy period Toby Lewis was in the lead followed by Dominykas Karmazinas from Lithuania and Mark Teltscher, EPT winner. Gran Levy hit the rail soon after the end of rebuys when his pocket kings came across pocket aces. James Demspey found himself with a short stack at this time so he could not recover and hit the rail soon afterwards.

Randy Dorfman established the chip lead after a big pot with Eoghan O’Dea where Dorfman’s 7, 5 were against O’Dea’s A, 9. The flop gave Dorfman a two pair and a lead. He did not go on enjoying his big stack for a long time and lost it all in a massive pot against Ashley Mason when both players went all in. Dorfman held A, K and Mason opened pocket queens. The board gave Mason a set and Dorfman was eliminated.

Collopy, who paid for a few rebuys at the start, earned a huge stack after he sent Lewis to the rail when Collopy flopped higher two pair. Soon after that Salman Behbehani busted out when his pocket kings ran into Jarred Solomon’s pocket aces. Solomon had a good run in this event however he still did not manage to get into the money.

The winner of this event in 2011, Oliver Speidel, finished soon afterwards also just outside the money bubble. In this hand Dan Kelly, under the gun, raised 800. Seidel pushed all in with 9,125, all players before Marvin Rettenmaier, on the small blind folded and Rettenmaier pushed all in. Kelly flushed A, K and cleared.

Speidel opened pocket ten’s against Rettenmaier’s pocket queens. The board of 2, 4, 7, K, 3 did not help defending champion and Rettenmaier added 33,000 to his chip stack.

Maning Loeser, a German Pro player, became the unfortunate bubble boy when he pushed all in with 5,900 against Michael Benvenuiti with J, T. Unfortunately for Loeser his A, 8 failed to stand as Benvenuti hit a flush.
