Aussie Millions 2012 Event 7 Final

Ross Parkhill, Ireland came on top of 315 entrants to Aussie Millions 2012 Event 7, $1650 No Limit Holdem Bounties, and became the seventh gold ring winner this year.


32 players came back for Event 7 final. In the final day the tournament format was set to shoot-out so each player needed to finish in the top two to get to the final table.


Melanie Weisnser started the day in the chip lead. She lost it earlier in the day but than managed to regain it, lost it again and was finally eliminated. Hans Dorn suffered similar fate. He first established the lead at his table but than lost it all to Billy Argyros, James Obst and Michal Polchlopek. Other two top chip counts at the start of the day, Mark Betts and Jamie Pickering, did not have any problems and made all the ways to the final table with good sized stacks. Other players who hit the rail before the final table was assembled included Joshua Foster, Radoslaw Kopec, George Moussa, Harry Demetriou and Aleks Brkovic.


Eight finalists had a short break and went back to the felt to play for the title. Obst was the first to bust out followed by Adam Cusenza, Oliver Speidel, Pickering, and Betts.


The heads up was between Parkhill and Polchlopek. The spectators expected a long day as both players had similar chip counts of about 65 big blinds. Howevr one massive hand changed it all when Polchlopek opened on the button and Prakhill called. The flop brought 2s, Jh, 5h. Parkhill checked, Polchlopek bet 55,000, Parkhill check-raised to 140,000 and Polchlopek called. The turn came with 7c and both players checked. 5s hit in the river. Parkhill bet 250,000, Polchlopek raised 600,000 and Parkhill pushed all-in. Polchlopek called and showed Ah, 5d to see Parkhill’s pocket tows for a full house over Polchlopek set of fives. Polchlopek was left with only 151,000 and was finished in the very next hand.
