European Poker Tour EPT London 2011 is not only about who will be the crowned champion in the Main Event. There are many opportunities for all levels of players to get their piece of action and the highest buy-in of £20,000 High Roller Event attracted plenty of participants.

In 2010 High Roller of EPT London was won by Jose Barbero who came on top of 77 players and won massive £556,000 first prize. This year the numbers are about the same. 75 players entered the event and the top prize is set up for £520,000.

30 players remained in the game by the end of action of Day 1. Sam Stein finished in the lead with 240,000 ships. Mike Watson came second with 225,900 chips and Isaac Haxton is third with 199,200 chips. The starting stack at the beginning of the day was 50,000 chips.

As expected some of the best elite players paid their £20,000 and entered the field including Bertrand Grospellier, Vanessa Selbst, John Duthie, Johny Lodden, Juan Maceiras and Vanessa Rousso, however all of them hit the rail by the end of Day 1.

Vanessa Selbst was eliminated by Jonathan Duhamel, 2010 WSOP Main Event Champion. Greenstein was sent to the rail by Haxton when they both pushed on the flop of Ac, Jd, 9c. Greenstein opened As, 5s and Haxon shoed Qd, 10d. 10s on the turn and Kc on the river awarded Haxton with a straight and set greenstein home with nothing.

Other well-known players who took the exit before the end of the day included Tony G, Justin Bonomo, Viktor Blom, Tobias Reinkemeir and Theo Jorgensen.

There are still plenty of notables left in the game including Phil Collins, 2011 WSOP November Niner, James Bord, WSOP Europe 2010 Champion, Joe Hachem, 2005 WSOP Main Event Champion, Mike McDonald, Eugene Katchalov, Olivier Busquet and Sam Trickett.

Day 2 of the London EPT 2011 High Roller Event will start at 12:00 BST on Thursday when the remaining players will be competing to be one of the first eight to make into the money.
