Today Aussie Millions is celebrating its 10th Anniversary at the Crown Casino in Melbourne. So we would like to remind you about the history of this amazing event, how it became one of the best live poker event in the world and remember the champions of the past
For the first six years of Aussie Millions history no Aussie has was the Main Event title despite Australian domination at the final tables. This was about to change in 2009. The mood of the local players became clear even at the side events when Australians won seven events. Former champions also had a good run with Lee Nelson, champion in 2006, won $1,100 Pot Limit Omaha event, and Alexander Kostritsyn, the defending champion, proved himself once again and took down 10,500 H.O.R.S.E. event.

|Last year Aussie Millions saw its first Super High Roller Event with $250,000 AUD buy-in. 20 players registered including Tom Dwan, Sam Trickett, Daniel Cates, John Juanda, Phil Ivey, Erik Seidel and a group of Chinese businessmen. The even was run in turbo format. In the heads up it was Trickett, 2011 winner of $100,000 AUD High Roller Event, and Seidel. Although Tricket began heads up in a chip lead Seidel shwed his class once again and defeated his opponent in less than an hour taking down $2.5 million AUD beconing the winner of the largest buy-in tournament in poker history.
