By Julia, 08, November, 2011 - 13:32

Six players came back for the final day of the WPT Amneville 2011. Scott Baumstein began the day in the chip lead with 3.91 million chips, which was 1.3 million chips more than his nearest rival. Unfortunately despite having a massive advantage at the start of the day Naunstein could not hold it for long and busted out in the forth place. The hero of the final was Adrien Allain, who came on top of 379 player field and won €310,633.

It took a while for the first elimination to happen. Arnaud Trouer fell the thirst victim when he went all in with 780,000 chips. Allain, on the small blind, thought and went all in too. Trouer showed Ad, Qc and Allain opened Ah, Jh. The flop brought Ks, Jd, Js, then Kc came on the turn and awarded Allain with a full house. 9d on the river was a blank for both players and Trouter hit the rail in the sixth place with €47,700.

Michel Konieczny shoved was the next to go when first Thibaud Guenegou bet 110,000 from under the gun, Baumstein called and Konieczny shoved all in from the big blind with 800,000. Guenegou folded but Baumstein called. Konieczny opened Ad, 10s to see Baumstein’s pocket queens. The board ran with 10d, Jh, 9h, 3c, 2d and Konieczny finished his WPT Amneville in the fifth place with €60,196 payout.

Despite dominating the action from Day 2 Baumstein’s luck ran out in the final and for the first time he saw his cards turning against him. In his last hand Baumstein, on the button, went all in preflop with pocket sevens. Jordan Quin called from the big blind with Kc, Jc. The flop of Qc, 9s, 5c further strengthened Quin’s position with a draw of a straight or a flush. 10c came up on the turn and eliminated the favorite in the forth place with €80,640.

Guenegou hit the rail in the third place when he pushed all in with 1.35 million and Allain called with Ac Qh. Guenegou opened Ah, 7d and was dominated by his opponent. The flop of Qs, 5c, 4h meant the end of the road for Guenegou and he went home with €113,580.

In the heads up both Allain and Quin were fairly close in chips. However Allain took the lead when he opened with 220,000, Quin raised to 460,000 and Allain called. The flop brought Kd, Qd, 9c. Both players checked. 9d came on the turn, Quin bet 950,000, Allain pushed all in and Quin called. Quin showed Ac, 9s against Allain’s 6d, 5d. 9d was the crucial card in this hand as it gave Quin the set and completed Allain’s flush. 6s on the river was of no importance. Allain doubled up to 9,370,000 leaving Quin with only 2 million chips.

In the last hand Quin went all in with his last 1.5 million holding Kh, 9d. Allain called with pocket tens. The board ran Qd, 8s, 4c, 4s, 9s and sent Quin to the rail in the second place with €170,365 prize.
